Q- Do I need a permit to reshingle my home?
A- No, because it is only maintenance to the home. Note only maximum of 2 layers of shingles is permited under code.

Q- Do I need a permit to put up a fence?
A- Not if it is 4 feet or less in height and more than 50 % open.

Q- Can I put in a concrete driveway?
A-
Yes, but it must be 5 feet away from the road and you can have either gravel or asphalt between the road and the concrete.

Q- If I add an addition or a new detached garage, do I need a plat of survey?
A- Yes, you can try to locate one at the City of Delafield clerk's office or the Register of Deeds in Waukesha County.

Q- If I am doing any kind of interior remodeling do I need a permit?
A- You do not need a permit if all you are doing is changing or redoing what is already existing. However, if you remove what is existing, for example a wall or remove any of the standing structure you will need a permit.

Q- Do I need a permit for a swimming pool?
A- Yes. All swimming pools including above ground require permits.

Q- Do I need a fence around my pool?
A- Yes. Above ground pools require 4' walls as well.
