Bark River Restoration

The Bark River is currently undergoing restoration. This is three-phase project that includes creating an expansion of St. John's Park between the Bark River and the mill race; restoring the eroding streambank along the Bark River between the Nagawicka Lake dam and the VMR bridge with fieldstone riprap and native vegetation; and burying the pipe over the river behind the Milwaukee Street Traders building. Funding for the project is a joint venture between the DNR and the City, and it is expected to be completed in 2018.
